Taste of the Wild, Canyon River Feline Formula Review

Are you looking for cat food that meets all your kitty’s nutritional needs?   There are a lot of different products available to buy on the market, but not all of them are the best choice for your kitty. Every cat has unique nutritional needs which keep changing with the activity level, age, etc.  So, what may have suited your cat’s needs a year ago may not be the best choice now.

In this blog post, we will review the Taste of the Wild, Canyon River Feline Formula, in detail to help you determine whether or not it is the right choice for your kitty.

Let’s get started, shall we?

A Quick Look at the Company History: Taste of the Wild

The food sold under the Taste of the Wild brand is manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods, Inc., a company owned by Schell and Kampeter, Inc. They are a U.S.-based pet food manufacturer and have their plants located in Lathrop, California, Gaston, South Carolina, and Meta, Missouri.  The Schell and Kampeter families manage the family-owned and privately-held enterprise to this date.

Taste of the Wild debuted in the market in 2007 and is a relatively new pet food brand. The brand strives to meet the demand for premium grain-free and “natural” dog foods and doesn’t use filler ingredients such as rice, soy, and corn.  The Diamond Pet Foods company is headquartered in Meta, Missouri, and was founded in 1970 by brothers-in-law Gary Schell and Richard Kampeter, who had at that time bought Milling Meta Co., which was a company that produced dog food as well as livestock feed.

The company’s distribution was limited to within 100 miles of Meta, Missouri, and 95 percent of the company’s production was livestock feed. Soon, Diamond expanded its manufacturing units to include plants in San Joaquin County, California, in 1999 and Gaston, South Carolina, in 2002.

But you need to remember….

It doesn’t matter how “great” the cat food is; if your cat doesn’t like it, she “ain’t” going to eat it.  This is why we always recommend that you first purchase a small back of the different types we discuss to ensure your cat (whose opinion matters the most) is happy and satisfied.

I wanted to tell you about the experience with your Salmon cat food and my cat. First day, went without eating. Second day, I buried a little of her old food and a few temptations treats under the new food. She ate “a little”. It took 4 days of this and then I gave her just Canyon River. She now loves it!! But the benefits? No longer scratching constantly, no longer shedding, and her coat is SO soft!! This food is the ticket!! It is well worth the price for all the benefits!!
    God bless you!!
