PetPlan Insurance Company Review

Are you looking for a good and comprehensive pet insurance company?

It is essential to choose the best pet insurance company for your furry friend to be stress-free about your pet’s medical care bills while being able to provide them with the best possible medical care you can. You can choose from many pet insurance companies, but it takes a lot of research to pick one that fits your budget and covers all essential things.

In this blog post, we will review the PetPlan Insurance Company and help you determine whether it is the right choice for you and your furry friend.

Let’s begin, shall we?

An Overview: PetPlan Pet Insurance Company

PetPlan Insurance Company has been recognized as one of the best pet insurance companies and is recommended by breeders, vets, and customers. The insurance company has a 97% customer satisfaction rate, which is fantastic. This high customer satisfaction rate means the company does not terminate care due to illnesses, injuries, or old age.

PetPlan also offers hereditary, congenital, and genetic coverage with its plans.

Here is what the company offers:

  • Insurance for your pet regardless of age, and no policy exclusions for hereditary and chronic conditions!
  • Paperless claims through mobile apps
  • 24/7 customer service hours

PetPlan also reimburses you for vet exams and fees and provides complete coverage for dental diseases and injuries, which are included as a standard in the policy. The company also covers hereditary conditions such as hip dysplasia as a standard in the policy.

PetPlan Coverage and More

PetPlan offers comprehensive coverage, and they handle accidents and new illnesses due to hereditary and congenital diseases, which most pet insurance companies do not provide. PetPlan covers advanced testing, rehabilitative care, holistic therapies, hospital stays, etc., and non-routine vet exam fees.

That’s not all, though.

PetPlan also offers dental injury and treatment of periodontal disease and other curable pre-existing conditions after the 365-day exclusionary period.

Take a look:

  • The company covers dogs as well as cats
  • It allows unrestricted vet selection and out-of-state coverage as well

Petplan Pet Insurance: Benefit Limits, Reimbursements, and Deductibles

In this section of the blog, we will cover the benefits limits offered by PetPlan Insurance company and the deductibles.

Benefit Limits

It is important to note that PetPlan doesn’t offer unlimited coverage across the board but allows you more flexibility in choice and an annual benefit limit. You can set PetPlan’s annual limits at.”

  • $2,500
  • $5,000
  • $10,000
  • $15,000
  • $20,000
  • $25,000
  • Unlimited

This is an excellent advantage if you research the costs and types of conditions your pet breed is prone to getting and combine it with the cost of treatment in those areas.

Reimbursements

PetPlan pays you a predetermined percentage of the veterinarian bill after you meet your deductibles. The insurance company follows an existing reimbursement model, and the rates available are:

  • 70%
  • 80%
  • 90%

Deductibles

When you compare PetPlan to other insurance providers, you find that the company offers a very flexible deductible schedule and allows its customers to choose deductible levels between $100 and $ 1,000. If you can meet a deductible of a higher end, you will be paying lower monthly premiums.

The company operates on an annual deductible, meaning you have to meet the one deductible even if you don’t have an incident during that time. The minimum deductible offered by the company is $100, and the maximum is $1000.

PetPlan Enrollment, Waiting Period, and Claims

Knowing a pet insurance company’s enrollment and waiting period beforehand is essential.

PetPlan Enrollment and Waiting Period

Dogs and cats as young as six weeks can be enrolled in PetPlan. And, unlike other pet insurance companies, PetPlan does not have an upper age limit, which means that even older animals can get covered by the plan.

  • Accident coverage begins after five days of enrollment
  • There’s a 15-day enrollment period for illnesses

Medical records are required by the company when you’re filing a claim. However, they aren’t necessary when enrolling.

Petplan Claims Process

With PetPlan, the process of filing a claim is quite simple.

Following are the steps you need to take:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Print the personalized pre-filled claim form, which is barcoded for fast processing.
  3. Complete and sign the form.
  4. Fax it to 1-866-599-4654 or email it to claims@gopetplan.com. You can also submit it via the company’s app for iOS or Android.
  5. Remember to include the paid itemized receipts and the medical records release form.

Suppose you are filing a claim for the very first time. In that case, you must sign and forward a copy of the Medical Record Release Form to all veterinarians (including specialists and emergency vets) your pet has visited for at least the past two years (or for as long as you have had your pet).

How Long is the Claims Process?

The company pays the claims within 30 days of receiving a complete claim submission, including all required medical records, a signed claim form, and invoices. Typically, the company pays the claims within five to fourteen days of request.

Summing Up: PetPlan Pet Insurance Review

The PetPlan Pet Insurance company is one of the best pet insurance companies available. The best thing about the company is that it doesn’t have an upper age limit for coverage, meaning that older pets are also covered under the insurance.

Isn’t that amazing!?

Besides that, the company is well-reputed and is recommended by breeders, vets, and customers. The insurance company has a 97% customer satisfaction rate, which is fantastic. But it is always important to understand that while Figo is a great pet insurance company, they are just one of several that you will want to consider. Will it cover muscular dystrophy? I might be adopting a 9 week old puppy from a rescue & I dont think any testing was done to determine for sure he has muscular dystrophy but a blood test & muscle biopsy will need to be done for that, otherwise his vet Bill’s would be minimal

      Laurie,

That’s a great question and one that we would recommend that you ask a PetPlan representative directly. This is because we know that usually, what you’ll find is the most pet insurance plans will have some type of provision against insuring animals with already diagnosed pre-existing medical conditions, but it sounds like you’re not sure if your puppy has any. By speaking with a representative directly, you can make sure that you get the right advice without taking any chances.

Lastly, good for you with regards to your adoption, we here at IndulgeYourPet hope everything works out for you!
